The MI-603 Family of Precision AZ/EL Positioners is designed to operate reliably in the most demanding applications and environments. The incorporation of compact steel bodies, all-weather design, and tough marine grade finish is a dramatic departure from the MI-603’s industry predecessors. The internal cavity of each positioner is designed with sustained longevity and serviceability in mind, providing easy maintenance access and extensive corrosion protection to the high performance motors and modular sub-assemblies of the powertrain. In addition, the MI-603 offers numerous position feedback options to optimize performance for your application and allow maximum controller interface flexibility.  

The MI-603 is equipped standard with brushless motors, high efficiency powertrain components, absolute encoders, and user-adjustable hardware limits. Adds a single channel RF path inside the positioner supporting continuous unrestricted rotation of the Azimuth axis. The factory installed kit contains RF rotary joint and internal RF cabling.

CRU (Continuous Rotation for Upper-Axes)

 

Adds an electrical path inside the Azimuth axis supporting continous unrestricted rotation of the Azimuth axis. The factory installed kit contains an internal electrical slip-ring assembly, internal wiring, cap and chain protectors.

Applications include wiring support for model towers, gimbals, and general uper axis support.

Convenience & Protection Option

 

 

Interlock Protection Circuit:

 

Adds an internal interlock circuit and activation switches for permissible travel ranges between two or more axes. A typical application would restrict the travel range of the Elevation axis if the upper model tower’s Offset slide axis is in a certain forward or reverse condition. Interlocks are typically project-specific and respond to overload protections required for the overall positioner assembly of the article-under-test.

Center Access Tube, Azimuth:

 

 Adds an indoor/outdoor rated access tube installed inside the center of the Azimuth axis to support cabling in restricted travel applications and service loops. This option cannot be ordered in conjunction with RF and electrical options.

Stow-Pin:

 

Adds manual stow-pin and mating receptacle to protect the positioner’s drive-train in susceptible environments such as high wind-gust exposure in outdoor environments and high-load pick-up mode applications. Includes electrical interlock circuit for disabling the servo system when stow-pin is inserted. Default position is zero (0) degrees. Alternate stow-pin angle locations are available upon request (zero degrees standard)

Leveling Mount:

 

Adds a kit of wedge-style leveling mounts to allow easy and quick leveling of positioner during instalation.

Adds a structural riser below the positioner for applications requiring accurate centering from a platform, outdoor silo applications, and various customer requested heights. Risers are designed to withstand the full capacity of the mated positioner and are tailored to your required height. Available features include acces hatches, custom color, internal shelving, and external and internal ladders.
